Diamond testing and grading covers numerous aspects of each stone’s qualities. Quality assessments regarding grading are made by independent gemological labs.
Diamond Grading Report provides an accurate assessment of a diamond's authenticity and quality (cut, color, clarity and carat weight) based on internationally recognized standards. Diamonds with permanent treatments are certified with such treatments noted prominently in the comment section of the report. IGS Diamond Grading Reports are not issued for diamonds with non-permanent treatments
Each diamond is graded on the basis of 4C’s i.e. Clarity, Cut, Color and Carat-weight. At IGS, each Diamond is graded very carefully by experienced Diamond Graders. This report not only covers 4C’s but also indicates if the diamond is treated or enhanced in any way to its present state. IGS follows widely accepted GIA - Grading system for grading of Diamonds. Diamond Grading is done using standard instruments like Proportion Scope, Master Stones, 10x Eye Loupe and Colorimeter etc.
